I am an award-winning author of contemporary fiction. My fiction and creative non-fiction has appeared in Canadian, American and British literary journals and anthologies including Antigonish Review, Avalon, Descant, Grain, Matters of Time, Spirit of the Hills, Surfacing, Wild Words, Word Weaver, Dream Catcher, CafeLit, The Best of CafeLit and A Coup of Owls.
And now my debut novel, Look Over Your Shoulder, is about to hit the streets.
Originally from Toronto, my husband and I currently live on a 156-acre slice of paradise in Ontario’s cottage country—where the wildlife is real, the sunrises are dramatic, and the Wi-Fi occasionally remembers it’s the 21st century.
My writing is inspired by the quiet dramas of everyday life, the occasional absurdity of being human, and my persistent belief that stories matter.
Welcome to my world. I hope you find it wild and real and a bit scary.

Hi Sharon,
Congratulations on the start of your new blog. Reading writers’ blogs is my favourite method of procrastination. Know that I will be visiting often in between the crafting of my own chapters.
Best of luck!
Sabrina R.
I look forward to seeing you – and your novel. Thanks for the support.
Hi Sharon,
As an emerging writing I share some of your concerns. While I don’t wish these aggravations on anyone, I do appreciate knowing what I have in common with other writers. Thanks for sharing.
Nice to hear from you, Lynda. I agree. It’s a lonely profession we’ve chosen and we have to remember to reach out and touch people once in awhile.

Look over your Shoulder! 3/4 of the way through reading it and it is EXCELLENT! The characters are lovable and vulnerable and very true to life! I bought your book at the Coboconk Library last week and can’t wait for your second book! 👍

Thank you so much, Barb. It was great meeting your book club at the library last week. Stillwater Lake will be out early 2026.
